New Truck Stop at Holyhead

The long awaited 200-space truck stop facility at Holyhead has now opened for business. The £6.5 million project, situated approximately 1 mile from Holyhead Port, will provide a rage of much needed facilities for the transport industry using the Port of Holyhead.
The truck stop initiative has been developed by Roadking, a company owned by Bet Fred owner Fred Done, and the Conygar investment company and will come on-stream at a time when the port has recorded yet another year of significant growth. Freight figures for the port continue to rise and Roadking anticipates that the facility will be used by many of the drivers travelling to and from Ireland who use Holyhead as their preferred shortest and fastest crossing port.
The purpose-built facility has a hard standing of block paving encompassing nearly 1million blocks laid by hand over an area of 19,900sq m. The hub building is nearly 1 000 sq m and is equipped with a state of the art kitchen, modern thermostatic pumped pressure showers. The new building can also handle over 120 restaurant covers split between a cafe and bar area.
Additional features of the new facility include free Wi-Fi, ATM cash machine, coin-operated laundry, pool table, sleeping rooms and a meeting room for hire. In the weeks ahead a Truck Wash facility will also open which will help providing some of the best facilities for truckers anywhere in the UK.
Security is provided by full-perimeter fencing, flood lighting, ANPR barrier exit and CCTV throughout. Overnight costs for the new Truck stop facility are from £8.
