Sweden and Norway: Truck protests

Swedish truckers protest against unfair competition in the road transport sector spreads to Norway and other countries
Truck drivers protest involving their stopping in certain places and times in Sweden spread to Norway and other countries of North Europe. Truck drivers stopping every day, protesting against the unfair competition created by foreign carriers - the action will take until Christmas.
Like the Swedish, Norwegian truckers set up Facebook page ("Her stopper Norge"), which organized the protest. On the Facebook page proposal are made for a number of stop-points where drivers can stop jointly twice a day for 15 minutes (at noon and midnight). Lack of proper required equipment is punishable high penalty and lock wheels. Since 2015 the foreign trucks must be equipped with a device for toll collection.
Subject of the completely unprepared for winter conditions in Norway foreign vehicles was and is repeatedly publicized in the media but control services still are faced with trucks with tires in terrible condition, damaged brakes, lack of chains; drivers often break the rules on driving times and rest periods.
In total, six drivers have been forbidden to drive on during one control session. In one case the trailer tires were extremely worn and the metal was visible through the rubber. A representative of the road administration confirms that there are more foreign trucks and drivers that have error.
Norwegian carriers who invest in equipment suitable for driving on Norwegian roads, calling for fair competition and the Norwegian drivers do not want to compete with vehicles that are a threat to road safety.
